About Naturally

With the importance of buying ‘local food’ becoming an increasingly topical issue in today’s world, there is a growing understanding among consumers about the benefits of buying locally. Purchasing direct from local producers not only helps ensure our food is fresh, nutritious, tasty and traceable, but by buying in this way we also support our local businesses and local economy.

“Naturally North Coast” builds on the successes of the Menu of Moyle initiative, which has been hugely successful in promoting local produce and encouraging the local restaurant trade to ‘buy local’. The name change reflects its enlargement to embrace food producers from throughout the North Coast’s districts of Ballymoney, Coleraine, Limavady and Moyle.

Food is a major part of the North Coast experience.  Food connects people to the landscape in which they live and visit, whether that is from the seas around Rathlin, the soils of Myroe or the pastures of the Glens. The “Naturally North Coast” directory enhances this experience, offering restaurants, hotels, pubs and retailers the opportunity to easily source food from local businesses.  It will encourage them to serve up unique dishes that have been inspired by what the area has to offer. By highlighting the importance of using locally-sourced produce in local eating establishments, Naturally North Coast adds prestige to local produce and increases the profile of the North Coast area as a complete tourism experience.
