Local Produce Directory

This directory has been compiled primarily to assist local hospitality providers to source local produce. Included are bakers, confectioners, meat and seafood producers, vegetable and herb growers, as well as beverage and egg producers. Although we have tried to find as many producers in the North Coast area as possible, the information outlines only those we were able to source or those who agreed to take part. If you are, or know, any additional quality producers from the North coast area who may be interested in being added to the directory please let us know – we would love to hear from you!

Some comments from our customers….

“I have really enjoyed the high quality meat and look forward to buying more.”

“Just wanted to pass on a big thank you from my family for the meat. They just can’t get enough of it. In fact, we had sausages at the weekend and they reminded both me and my husband of how sausages used to taste when growing up.”

“Gem and me loved the stuff and will be buying now on a regular basis”

“Just stunning quality and stunning value, love that it’s win-win for everyone involved.”

“We are just eating at the last bits of plastic that the meat came wrapped in… and hanging out for our next order.. “

Getting turkeys soon!

Broughgammon Farm

50 Straid Road
Ballycastle
Co. Antrim
BT54 6NP

Contact:

Charlie
Tel No: 447793485278
Email: [email protected]

Product Description:

The Cole family at Broughgammon are pretty forward-thinking people. They acquired the 50 Acre farm in 2002 where they built a sustainable home. Next they turned their attention to the farmland itself, their aim to provide LOCAL, SUSTAINABLE and AFFORDABLE food from it.
Today the Coles farm rare-breed Soay Sheep, Pigs and Poultry, but the main commercial element of the farm business is just getting off the ground.
Already a popular meat in Europe and beyond, Cabrito- Kid Goat meat is still a niche market in Northern Ireland. The family introduced the herd in 2011. The hand-reared goats are raised on a mixed diet of milk, haylage and cereals. The result is a delicately flavoured meat, that is lean, tender, low in cholesterol and sweeter alternative to lamb.
During the summer months, the family hand harvests seaweed from the nearby coastal shoreline and prepares it back at the farm. It is sold wholesale to cosmetics and food companies, and can also be found on their farmers’ market stalls.
Over the Winter months , work turns to managing the local deer population, providing seasonal venison, fit for a king!

Cabrito (Kid Goat Meat) Seaweed Wild Venison (Seasonally) Free Range Veal Free-Range Eggs (Seasonal)
